Password protect file extraction. Make so if picture sent to someone they can extract file with password and not full program required.

It's possible to extract hidden file without having full version. Did you have any troubles doing that?

Put the option to set the size of the program screen, since it is too large and attracting people to gather around you

It wouldn't be nice to have people gather around you when you're trying to hide files this is for people who doesn't really have time in PRIVATE

Create a portable version.

A version that can be run from USB key is a good idea. It would be less obvious again then seeing "Ultima Steganography" installed on the desktop or laptop.

How about an option to hide the password... you know when the program asks you to type in the password to encrypt or decrypt de file to be hidden... hide password behind asteriks or something

So that if there is somebody watching over your shoulder when you are keying in the password, the only thing they would see is asterisks, and not your key or password. Thanks !

Embedding of a checksum to verify the integrity of the extraced data.

I would like the ability to verify the integrity of the data once it added to the container file (i.e. - a "test" function similar to ZIP or RAR archives).

Add a menu bar.

Add a file/history/help/about bar at the top or something like that. Most programs have one. It's helpful.

Make the program more user friendly by having the option to drag-n-drop files instead of searching for loacation. GUI could be a little more pleasing to the eyes.

Add a hint/clue method whereby users can easily retrieve their key/password to be able to de-crypt their encrypted files in case they forget the key/password.

Make the extracted file the same name as the input file (instead of 'secret file')

Response from the site administrator
enplase, 24.08.2010
But it will decrease available space in container-image. It's worth it?

Restore the original file name when the 'secret' file is unencrypted.

It is strange that the program does not remember the original file name and defaults to calling everything "secret."

Add double encryption option for plausible deniability.

In other words, a container inside of a container. This would provide double the protection, especially if someone was forced to reveal the contents.

Forcing passwords when unlocking and locking the file to be hidden using asterisk to help secure the password from being stolen

This would secure the passwords from being stolen while you're unlocking/locking the file in public places. There are times when you need to do it. People wouldn't need to see what they're typing for the password anyway

Instead of adding a file - allow automated time date and IP address of customer to be added and also allow customers to type plain text as a file or paste a graphic which is sometimes quicker

Indicate how strong the password is when the user is choosing one.

Since the password is the "key" users must be reminded of the importance of choosing something difficult and some suggestions would be welcome too. http://www.passwordmeter.com/

Add an option to compress the embedded data.

I would suggesting using a tried and true standard like classic ZIP.

A larger file to picture ratio.. B psd compatibility...although Adobe is kinda close to the chest about that.

current ratio of file sizes, (Picture to File..folder), is kinda big... most people don't use pictures that big on their computer.. hence formats like jpg. Photoshop format would be very useful, ad it would allow for "invisible watermark"...

make a freeware extraction program in case someone loses the program and allow more room to put files in.

Although a huge image file would look suspicious, at least allow the user to add a few megabytes of files (unless the program doesn't work like this: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/hide-file-in-picture/ ), and have a suggested limit...

Allow for a slightly larger file. The current size does not allow much flexability.

Only text files are small enough to use this with and it would be valuable to hide pictures within the picture. Those pix that would make this program very useful are much too large, even for the smaller "covert" pictures.

Make the secret file description and file information option. It seems like a security breach to reveal this information.

I'm not sure it is appropriate for the program to identify files that have hidden data and then reveal information about the data to people who do not have the password. In this way, the program is confirming the existence of the encrypted data,...

Add mp3 and flac as encryption contain types.

These type of files are larger and less suspect than gigantic TIF files (which really only graphic artists would use). It would also permit larger files to be encrypted I believe.

Add a search option to find the embedded picture files in case you dont remember where they are

I have 5 drives on my computer and sometimes I cant remember where I put something. If you write everything down or put it in a text file you lost your security.

Tell me why I should not just use the copy function in Windows command prompt to do the same thing, with a pass protected RAR into a Jpeg, without having to use a program to do it.

Beef up the available encryption schemes.

Add AES-256 and also strongly consider adding Blowfish, Twofish and Serpent. The encryption scheme you chose is relatively weak compared to these.

Add easy method (i.e., clue or hint) for user to recover encryption password, to decrypt/unlock file, instead of making file unrecoverable if key/password is lost.

Build in the ability to upload outputted files to storage space on the cloud.

Easy and automatic upload of the files to storage space on the cloud would be handy, such as Amazon, Microsoft's SkyDrive or Google.

1. Let user know the minimum file size necessary for the input image file to hide the secret file. 'input image file must be larger than nnnn'. Selecting secret file first would allow this calculation in sequence.

Compress the source file to allow larger files to be included and to offer to split a file across multiple images (it would use other images from the same directory, and would encode the file names of previous and next images, so selecting any image

You can already hide a zip file, but this would save a step (also zip files / rar files have the option to be split into multiple chunks). Using a simple link list you can allow a larger file to be hidden, using a circular list would cut down the...

Option to use Truecrypt volume for the embeded file and outerfile as large file (database, MP4, etc...)

Create a dummy file around a TrueCrypt file. The output file could apper to be a corrupt large file like a MP4 or database.
